5G network countries you need to know about include China, USA, Japan, South Korea and India. 


These 5g network countries have already started planning, designing and developing the infrastructure to support 5g network technology in the coming years.

List of Countries that have launched 5G Networks


  1. China – 5G has been launched in a dozen cities, including Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou. 


  1. South Korea – The country’s biggest telecom operator, SK Telecom, began testing 5G-enabled networks in Seoul at the beginning of 2018, with plans to start offering consumer service by April 2019. 


  1. Japan – Japan already had its first early implementation tests of 5G at Tokyo 2020 Olympics venues and on public transportation. 


  1. United States – The US is expected to launch a number of 5G trials in 2018, with full commercial service expected by 2020. 


  1. United Kingdom – The UK government has announced plans for nationwide coverage by 2022, with testing that began in 2019. 


  1. Canada – Canadian operator Telus launched a small-scale trial of its 5G network in October 2018, and is expected to begin full commercial service in 2020. 


  1. Germany – Deutsche Telekom started limited tests of its 5G network in 2017 and will launch commercial service sometime after 2020. 


  1. Finland – Finland’s operator Elisa launched a small-scale trial of its 5G network in October 2018, with plans for full commercial service by 2021. 


  1. Sweden – The country’s biggest telecom provider, Telia, launched a small-scale trial of its 5G network in June 2018, with plans for full commercial service by 2022. 


  1. Australia – Vodafone Australia is currently trialing its 5G network, with plans to launch full commercial service in 2020. 


  1. Singapore – Singaporean operator Singtel began testing its 5G network in April 2018 and is expected to begin offering consumer services sometime after 2020. 


  1. Japan – Japanese telecoms firm NTT DoCoMo plans to start limited commercial service by 2020, with full service available by 2025. 


  1. South Korea – The country’s second-largest mobile provider KT has said it will launch a 5G network in Seoul in 2019, with plans for nationwide coverage by 2023.


 As of early 2019, there were over 30 nations in which 5G trials had begun or were scheduled for implementation, with that number expected to continue growing. 


These include both developed and developing economies such as Israel, South Africa, Nigeria, Kenya and Qatar.

South Korea, China, USA and Japan are some of the first countries that have plans to launch 5G. However, there are many others with their plans as well. 


Many companies around Asia such as Singapore Telecom and Softbank have been testing out 5G for a long time now. 


Recently in Europe like in Russia & Germany have shown interest in building out their country’s networks. 


Cisco has predicted that these 5G countries will be launching their services in 2022. 


In 2018, Verizon was reported to have been testing out its new 5G technology at a top speed of 10 Gbps, beating AT&T’s peak of 7 Gbps and Verizon’s own 4 Gbps speeds. 


In other words, when it comes to speed there is not much difference between them but they are getting faster as time goes on. 


The United States has also shown interest in launching 5G and has plans to do so by 2020. They are testing out their networks in California, Texas and New Jersey. 


The US government has set aside $400 million for research and development of 5G technology with more funding being available if needed. 


The United Kingdom had planned to launch 5G in 2019. Their major telecommunications company Vodafone will be leading these efforts along with Huawei who will be helping create and test out their new technologies. 


Singapore Telecoms, or Singtel, was one of the first companies to have tested out new 5G technologies back in 2016. 


Softbank, which is based in Japan, was another company that was early into testing 5G technology. South Korea and China are some of the most anticipated countries for 5G launch. 

Potential Risks of Using It

5g is still in development and some of these countries have been testing it out to see how well it works. 


The 5g network was not created specifically for use by individual customers but is an upgrade to 4g to provide faster data speeds and better connection.


This has proven to be more of a challenge for mobile phone companies than expected, but if it is able to be completed on schedule, 5g will become available as early as 2020.  


The biggest concern with 5g is that it operates at higher frequencies than 4g and therefore has more potential to cause health problems. 


Studies have shown that some frequency waves that can cause cancer in animals and humans and are associated with other health issues such as headaches, fatigue, insomnia and tinnitus. 


In addition, there are concerns about how these waves will affect pregnant women or children because their bodies are still developing.

5G is a new radio interface standard which will be used to deliver much faster mobile broadband than before. 


It’s still very early days, but it could see theoretical speeds of up to 10Gbps. 


Currently 5G isn’t available on any phones and you’ll need an expensive 5G router to take gain of it at home, but meanwhile some countries around the world have already started rolling out networks so we’re already well on our way towards being able to use these super-fast connections on our phones.


As 5G technology goes around and improves, it’s likely that we’ll start seeing more and more mobile devices supporting 5G connections. 


This is going to be opening up many new opportunities for businesses as well as helping mobile phone users access faster internet speeds.  


The main aim of 5G is to provide much faster broadband speeds than 4G and 3G networks, but it’s also designed to be much more responsive so that it can deliver high-quality video content in real time. 


5G uses a number of different technologies, including MIMO (multiple input multiple output), beamforming and massive MIMO, which are all ways of boosting data transfer rates.


This is a list of countries you need to know about before 5g becomes mainstream. Even if your country isn’t in it, you still need to know what they are doing to stay ahead of competition.
